In April, 16 students expressed their interest in joining the committee.
Fundraising Activities
This year’s committee members have shown interest in thinking about ways to alleviate poverty in Japan and around the world. As in previous years, the annual Walkathon will be held in November, with all students participating this year. Additionally, students from our sister school in Manila will participate locally. Approximately 900,000 yen will be raised in total, which will be used to help children from impoverished families in the Philippines and Sierra Leone attend school.

“Gifts from Joseph” Project
We will collaborate with the activities of the NPO Mottainai Japan to donate items. This year, the following items will be collected. Additionally, students will be asked to make small contributions during morning homeroom to cover shipping costs. Clothes will also be donated through the organization “Association for Aid and Relief, Japan.”
Items to be collected this year:
New stationery
Children’s picture books in good condition
Unused postcards, New Year’s greeting cards, or postcards with writing mistakes
(SDGs 1, 2, 11, 12)
Women’s Rights
As a girls’ school, committee members feel it is important to address the issue of “period poverty.” We will raise funds to purchase menstrual products, which will be donated to the Mie Prefecture Gender Equality Center. These products will be distributed to women in need. Additionally, students will give presentations on International Women’s Day to the entire school, discussing issues related to period poverty and other women’s rights topics.
(SDGs 1, 3, 5, 10)
“Marushiento” Initiative
“Marushiento” is an inquiry-based learning activity conducted during integrated study time, aiming to foster student growth and revitalize the local community through connections centered around the school. Students work with companies to design and package products or develop new items. They sell or offer these products and experiences to customers, and engage in hands-on creation. Through this initiative, students learn about the structure of local industries, while companies gain inspiration from the fresh perspectives of young people. This strengthens the foundation of the local economy, promotes sustainable innovation, and supports sustainable development through regional economic circulation.
(SDGs 4, 8, 9, 11, 12, 17)
